      <image:caption>Kim started teaching fitness in 1993 as a Physical Fitness Coordinator while she was in the Navy and discovered Pilates in 1995 after her first pregnancy. In 1999 she got out of the Navy to pursue a full-time career in the fitness world. Kim is comprehensively certified through STOTT PILATES® &amp; the NPCP. Kim specializes in Injury &amp; special populations, has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of NH, and owned her own Pilates and post-rehab studio for 10 years. Kim has also worked for the Military, hospitals, physical therapists and in health clubs &amp; studios. Kim now primarily teaches and mentors Pilates teachers and offers continuing education workshops. Kim loves to be outside and feels a special connection to the mountains- she enjoys hiking, kayaking, traveling and spending time with family, friends and dogs.       <image:caption>We all age… and all older adults want to keep moving and maintain independence, but the needs and goals of older adults are more diversified than any other population. Fitness levels have a very wide spectrum in the older adult population but ALL of us experience: Bone and muscle loss Decreased coordination and agility Joint degeneration (and possible joint and back pain) Declines in vision and balance And many other individual issues such as spinal stenosis, heart and/or blood pressure problems, neurological disorders, joint replacements, osteoporosis, etc The changes that happen as you age don’t define you but can slow you down and keep you from enjoying things you enjoyed in the past. BUT you CAN slow and even reverse (to a certain degree) most of these issues with strategies specific to your needs and goals so that you can continue to live an active life full of the activities that YOU want to do.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I have over 20 years of experience working with older adults (and am now close to being an “older adult” myself). I spent the last year of my Exercise Science Master’s Degree on a fall prevention research project which was highlighted on PBS and was published in peer reviewed professional journals. I have “trained the trainers” in Pilates and fitness for the older adult. I created and taught a successful Pilates program at three campuses at a local retirement community. I taught the course “Biology of Aging” through the Kinesiology department at the University of New Hampshire. When needed I team up with health care providers to determine the best approach to help you meet your goals. I understand that you have different and diverse needs. And most importantly, I LISTEN.</image:caption>
